Jimmy - I been here. 33 years and no visa for much of that time … I have Visa now… it is significantly more controlled now… I had mates doing same and one by one we were told to get visa or no entry

 - working in KL and back and forth …I have 3 passports and rotated them .. but immigration spotted it and made me get a visa

It is down to immigration officer I believe .. I did that for 20 years with no visa . And they black marked me - next time u need visa … I complied
