I managed to get my initial 20 day Thai wife visa and will return for the year stamp in 3 weeks .. then I will get my multi entry permit.. ..

Does anyone know what docs I will need to

1) get the full 1 year visa stamp and

2) multi entry ??

Hoping it is not a duplicate of the entire visa application process which was 76pages altogether

TLDR : Answer Summary
To obtain the one-year visa stamp and multi-entry permit in Thailand, you generally need slightly fewer documents than for the initial visa application. For the one-year visa stamp, required items usually include your passport, marriage certificate, proof of income, health insurance, and possibly a police certificate. For the multi-entry permit, you'll need your passport with the one-year visa stamp, a completed application form, recent photographs, and the application fee. It's important to note that specific requirements may vary by immigration office, so it's advised to double-check with the local authorities.

The stage your at you shouldn't need any documentation, other than your passport (which should have your 90 day report receipt in it, if applicable). For the extension, Brandon has supplied the checklist.

Congratulations on getting your initial 20-day Thai wife visa!

For the 1-year visa stamp and multi-entry permit, you'll need to provide some documentation, but it's typically not as extensive as the initial visa application. Here's a general idea of what you might need:

1-Year Visa Stamp

1. *Passport*: Your valid passport with at least 18 months' validity.

2. *Marriage Certificate*: A certified copy of your marriage certificate, translated into Thai (if not already in Thai).

3. *Proof of Income*: Documentation showing your income, such as a pension statement, bank statement, or employment letter.

4. *Health Insurance*: Proof of health insurance that covers you in Thailand (check with your insurance provider to ensure it meets Thai requirements).

5. *Police Certificate*: A police certificate from your home country or a Thai police certificate (if you've been living in Thailand).

Multi-Entry Permit

1. *Passport*: Your valid passport with at least 18 months' validity.

2. *1-Year Visa Stamp*: You'll need to have the 1-year visa stamp in your passport before applying for the multi-entry permit.

3. *Application Form*: A completed application form for the multi-entry permit.

4. *Photographs*: Recent passport-sized photographs.

5. *Fee*: The application fee for the multi-entry permit (currently 3,800 THB).

It's essential to note that requirements might vary depending on your specific situation and the immigration office you're dealing with. It's always a good idea to:

- Check with the Thai immigration office or embassy/consulate in your home country for the most up-to-date requirements.

- Bring all original documents and certified copies, as well as photocopies.

- Have all documents translated into Thai, if necessary. You should also consider reading a book or two before your travel.. I'd recommend a book "Thailand Unveiled 2024-2025" by James Anderson on Amazon..it has all the info and recommendations you need..you should check it out 😀

Are you saying you have the initial 90 days and are going back to apply for the 1 year extension? If so then you will basically need all the same documents to get the 1 year extension that you needed to get the initial 90 days.

If you are saying you applied for the 1 year extension and got the typical 30 day under consideration stamp and simply need to go back to get the other 11 months stamped in then you will just need to show up with your passport.

Thanks - much appreciated.. I replied No to “you have initial 90 days” sorry my response was not clear

Yes - I have under consideration stamp ..

Thanks for advice … I have done this several times but cannot remember the process ..

then you shouldn't need anything else. People always say it's a good idea to keep your account above 400k just in case. Not sure if that's a precaution or if there are people who have actually been asked to provide an updated bank book. In the 5 years I've followed the visa help pages I do not recall anyone ever saying they needed to.

i did not ask a yes or no question so I am not sure what you are saying no to. I gave an either or situation and you have yet to make it clear exactly what you applied for when they gave you the notice to return.

Based on this response and another where you say "they always do this, you do not get the one year stamp on the first visit" I assume you applied for the 1 year stamp and you are referring to the "under consideration stamp" that I mentioned. If this is the case you show up with your passport. Not sure what was unclear about anything I said. It appears you missed the 2nd paragraph of my first response.

I guess you mean the initial 90 days Non O visa based on being married to a Thai? You can apply for a re-entry permit for the 90 days at your immigration or the airport at 1000 baht. If that’s your point.

Regarding the one year extension of stay the requirements varies a bit between the different immigrations so I suggest you’ll get handed over the requirements at your particular immigration before you apply. Regarding financial requirements the 400K baht has to be seasoned for two months before you apply unless you apply with an affidavit letter from your embassy regarding income. You can apply for multiple re-entry permits on the one year extension of stay on a TM.8 form at 3800 baht.

Ok, if they approve your visa on the 13.th -as they probably will- you will have 90 days in total.

Get handed over the requirements from your immigration, but the process regarding extension of stay is more or less the same as for the initial 90 days Non O. You’ll normally need the 400K baht seasoned for two months before you apply, but you can withdraw them when your extension is approved.

You should only need your passport and the blue receipt when you go back to get your full stamp. Re-entry permit can vary from office to office but here's a generic list.
