I went to Chaengwattana Immigration today. My ninth extension. No appointments available, I arrived about 815, had forms already filled out. Got queue number, then went and got bank letter, photos, and copies, back to the queue. The Q slip has a QR code that sometimes works to tell you how far ahead you are. I had everything done, including queuing up again for reentry permit before lunch time.

Usually people say they’re denied for insufficient funds when they’ve had too many back to back tourist, visas, and extensions, etc. Often they are denied for insufficient funds without the agent actually checking your money. It’s true, though, they don’t accept your online banking, credit cards, etc., only cash, and never ATM before passport control.

If your embassy will certify your pension, you can do it this way. Otherwise, you need to put in the ฿800,000 as normal, and then for a year, arrange a transfer of ฿65,000 per month. Then you can switch to the monthly income method.

I forwarded mine to Google Drive before I left the United States seven years ago. It still works. It seems like you can’t get a drive unless you’re in the United States to store it though. When people call it, they get a message that says say your name, and then it puts them through and ask if you want to receive a call from John, etc.

I lost track of the OP country, but I would not take large amount of cash to the United States. They can take it under civil forfeiture , claim you are a drug dealer or or money launderer and you are unlikely to get it back. Many stories about this.
