Just a quick question.

We've been to Pattaya for the new year, iv been taking to a group of lads English and French, they said they were leaving Thailand on the 4th of January, and returning 2 more times this year, I thought with the new entry rules for visa exempt, was 2 visits a year ,because they entered in December last year, they said it does not count as a entry for this year eventhough it ran into this year,can't get my head around it.

For anyone who was concerned — I’ve just cleared immigration at Suvarnabhumi Airport for the sixth time this year. The officer greeted me with a big smile and stamped my passport without a single question. That brings my total stay this year to around 100 days, never exceeding 25 days and always returns to my home town.

Conclusion- if you are a legitimate tourist, there is no need to worry about the new immigration rules .

I know there previously was a limit of 2 Border Crossings per calendar year for Visa Free entry, but since late last year, the new Gvt wanting to increased tourism numbers changed it to 4 per calendar year until further notice... Can anyone having recently had multiple border crossings ( by Land or Air) within the same calendar year share their experience with Immigration Officers when trying to re-enter Thailand.
