Sorry to bring up much-repeated topic. I have 90 day O visa retirement, due by 11 Feb to extend one year. Landlord gave me TM30 receipt dated November 2018. I left Thailand 13 December to 16 December. Will I need new TM30 when I go to Cheangwattana for one year extension? Tod Daniels thank you in advance!

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user is inquiring whether they need to provide a new TM30 form when seeking a one-year extension for their 90-day O retirement visa at the Chaengwattana immigration office. Various comments indicate that, generally, a TM30 receipt is not required for extensions or general reporting, based on recent experiences of other expats. However, there have been isolated cases of TM30 requirements, particularly when changing addresses from other provinces.

Just as an aside, Last week when I was at Chaengwattana. People I know got extensions based on education, being a teacher, being over 50, being a tourist (on a tourist visa) and being a tourist (on a 30 day visa exempt entry stamp) got re-entry permits and did 90 day reports and NONE <- as in NOT A SINGLE ONE was asked for their TM.30 or told to file one for what they were doing. :O

I'm going out there tomorrow morning and will check about the TM.30.

I will say I saw a person who had just moved to bangkok and was filing a change of address for (TM.28) AND doing a 90 day report AND getting a residence certificate be told to go file a TM.30

BUT

I think it was because he was just moving down here from another province..

That's the only other instance I have seen a person being TOLD to go file a TM.30 form in Section J-1.

There is no need, at present, to do TM30 every time you enter the country at Chaengwattana

Tod reported in November CW required a TM30 - 1 case only - and that was for a non-0 90day not an extension.

Chaengwattana doesn't require you to show a TM30 receipt.
