yes,we just did it ourselves. Luckily we should just be able to renew simply after the 2 years is up.

definitely. My husband has both too. I had my purse stolen on New year's Day,with my UK licence inside. Even though I still had my IDP,I had to do the 2 day course. The practical was fine but the theory - never want to have to do that again. As my husband DID have his UK licence and IDP he was issued with both licences within an hour. So much simpler now.

yes,we only found out by chance. But at least the IDP is now valid for 2 years. 🎉

it's now 2 years! But if you're here in Thailand for longer than 3 months it becomes invalid and you need to apply for your Thai licence. We did that,3 weeks ago.

definitely. We did that recently,at Ranong.

Plus it's not the actual test itself, the practical test. That only takes a few minutes. It's the theory. You can practise for it by going online, but there's around 600 questions they might ask you. You need to get on the day to pass.

if you do have the correct paperwork,go that way. Believe me, it's not easy to pass the practical and the theory is really tricky. The English used is often difficult to understand and you must get 45 out of 50 questions correct. Take it from me - if you have the correct paperwork,do it that way. Plus you still need to have the medical certificate and letter from immigration for every outcome. It really was difficult. And I've been driving for over 40 years. My husband stood in a queue for 20 minutes and got both licences almost immediately (10 mins processing time)
