Hi there. Hopefully this will be my last question regarding a METV. I understand that it starts immediately once granted - ok. But just say, for example,it is issued on 15th October and we arrive on the 31st of October. We still get stamped in for 60 days? And we definitely have to have a flight out of and back into Thailand within 60 days? Is this correct? Sorry, but I get confused very easily and don't want to get this wrong ( we've already sorted the funds issue for the 6 months bank statements). Thank you again for your help.

TLDR : Answer Summary
The Multiple Entry Tourist Visa (METV) is activated upon issuance, meaning that once you receive the visa, your 6-month validity countdown begins. Upon entering Thailand, you will receive a 60-day stamp on arrival. It is important to plan your return flight to show proof of departure within those 60 days. Extensions of stay are possible for an additional fee, and you can re-enter Thailand for another 60 days after exiting.

And as Tod stated...

Once the METV visa is issued..

PRINT OUT THE VISA..show it to your airline at check-in and to the Thai Immigration Officer who greets you on arrival.

Make sure you keep a copy of the METV Visa to show when you use it.

PRINT it out !

Yes you are STAMPED in for 60 days on arrival into Thailand

Then you can get a 30 day extension of stay at Thai immigration office for 1900 Thai baht...

Or depart Thailand and re-enter with a New 60 day stamp on arrival.

Repeat as wished... Plan your use of the METV multiple entry tourist visa to your advantage.

Once it is ISSUED... The METV Visa is valid for 6 months.

Not 6 MONTHS from your FIRST arrival date into Thailand.

You need to show PROOF of your planned departure from Thailand within the first 60 days from arrival date.

No further proof of your plans required for the METV.

Suggest you read this post of Tod Daniels... Re the METV
