It looks like your contract may not explicitly say you are allowed to work remotely, so they want assurance from the company that you can do so. The bank statements should show the payments to your account from your employer, that should be easy to get.

Can I apply for a Thai DTV visa with 500k THB spread across multiple bank accounts?

I literally transferred all the money to an account hours before applying for the DTV, and it was approved.

They didn't ask me for a permanent address, in fact I added an address from an Airbnb and as proof sent the Airbnb visa document they provide in the site, no issues at all.

If there is no embassy in Maldives, you can apply online to the nearest one, try entering it in the site and it will give you the nearest embassy if any.

What is the bank balance requirement for applying for a Thai visa, 500k total over 6 months or per month?

I showed a statement totalling 500k, and there was nothing saying for how long I had it, so you can transfer 500k, apply and then take it out.

Can a consultant working for an international organization apply for a DTV visa in Thailand without a business registration?

If your contract says you can work remotely then that's good enough, mine stated that explicitly and I wasn't requested any further proof.

What happens to a DTV visa if a second visa type like the LTR is approved?

The DTV Will be cancelled and you'll get the LTR instead, no major issues, the company should help in the process.

Congrats, I assume the two names in the account may have complicated things for the review process, very long wait, took me 3 days to get it approved.
