I've come to the conclusion you can't. Multiple mentions of TrueMoney are correct. Just need a passport and a TH phone number. Once setup, walk into 7-11, add upto 3000thb and spend with a code. It works in many places and more places than last year. You'll spend more time and hassle trying to get a bank account.

UK Passport, will apply from London, so London Embassy. Purpose will be soft power. I always intended to learn Thai, regardless of it being an option here, my wife wants to learn the language but also loves cooking and may choose one of them. I did see that doing nature seminars is available in Bangkok, but I am in CM and it looks like a riskier one to get.

excellent Thanks Ivan. . Only complication now is showing income. I earn a salary of £5K and top up with selling shares or removing cash reserves from the investment account £30K.

Well done. So you need to have the amount in cash savings? We have almost all invested, and even the cash element is in an investment account as cash. This can be an issue.

I have the same and paid a premium of 400 on top for a longer stay BUT the longest they offered was 120 days. When did you last get a 6 month extension?

What the difference in rate between £50s and £20s.

Only way to get £50s is to go and wait at Bank for me. Might not be worth the hassle.
