It's not all bad. Word is Samut Prakan are a bit less user friendly.

You could also call Bumrungrad hospital and make an appointment for the following Saturday morning. Cost an extra, hmm, 800 baht, I think.

I'm from one of those countries. Slight digression of possible interest to those travelling a lot: The officer stamping me into Laos was friendly and chatty (slow day.) And so I asked how many times I'd be allowed in Laos in, say, one year. He talked a bit with a colleague and then replied "3 or 4".

I think Vientianne is the only consulate around here that doesn't require proof of onward travel.

I've seen a few posts that suggests Ho Chi Min might be quite user friendly.
