How long should I give myself in Vietnam to secure a DTV and return to Thailand?
I’m planning to book return flights from Thailand to Vietnam (Hanoi) and apply for my DTV from there. I need the return ticket, so do I give myself 2 weeks? 3? If I return before the DTV is issued then I guess my DTV application gets cancelled so I’m nervous. But I’d rather not spend a whole month in Vietnam just for DTV
I have been called for an interview I apply through the UAE Dubai embassy royal Thai consulate general Can you help me “If you know someone has gone through this process, can they tell me what questions they will ask?”
Hi everyone. I had a sticker DTV visa from Hanoi, when it was still possible to get it offline (Sep, 2024). Now I have lost my old passport (or it was stolen).
I have a photo of my visa and my old passport, and active second passport. Will it be possible to transfer my visa, having a police report and consulate letter? I heard mixed information about DTV transfer.

Morning all, we want to apply for the tourist ME visa for a trip from end of December to mid May. The visa lasts 6 months from date of issue so we don’t want the visa issued until mid/end of November. My question is how long does the application process take for any resident as we need to time it right to send off our application. Thank you
I applied for the DTV with NY Consulate. I am currently pending approval. I was invited to a wedding of friends in Africa and the dates are 9/10-9/17. Am I able to travel to Africa while my visa application is still pending? I will only be gone for 1 week but I am concerned about it impacting my approval.
Looking for recent experience -- we were just unable to renew my husband's visa because he only had one passport page left (US passport), and apparently that page is reserved for "special endoremsements." The US consulate's website says (in many places) that they will not add pages and the only solution is to renew his passport by sending it to the embassy in Bangkok, which takes 4-6 weeks. His visa expires in 2.5 weeks. Has anyone successfully gotten an emergency passport or extra pages added in this situation (recently)?
Hi !!! If I apply for the DTV from Vietnam, can I do it through either of the two consulates in the country, or do I have to apply only through the one corresponding to the city I’m in at the time? I’ll be traveling throughout the country, and since the application is online, I’m not sure if I can apply through the Ho Chi Minh consulate even if I’m currently in Hanoi
Got my DTV Visa approved today, and wanted to share the relatively painless process!
I'm doing soft power, through a cooking school in Chiang Mai that has a program made for DTV. I paid 63,000 baht for a program that's supposed to last for a minimum of 140 hours of cooking classes, and it took about a week from applying to the program to getting a pdf file from them with all the DTV info I'd need for proof of enrollment.
Following that, I applied for the DTV through the Chicago consulate on July 9th. I just got it approved today (July 16), a total of about 6 full business days. I enclosed the DTV pdf file from the cooking school (after reducing its size), a picture I took of myself on my phone, pictures of my passport page, and a bank statement for June of this year. My bank statement also held notably more than the minimum requirement.
All in all, both faster and less painful than I was expecting. Aiming to land in Chiang Mai in two months to kick off my stay in Thailand!
Criminal Record Check requirements for non immigrant O-A visa.
My question is what is required by the Thai Consulate in US to verify no criminal history. I have a letter from my state's DOJ saying 'my fingerprints did not identify any criminal history record maintained by this Bureau.' It then goes on to say that 'the response does not constitute a certified letter and cannot be used for an apostille.' Do I need a certified letter from the California DOJ to be sent to the Secretary of State's office to affix an apostille? Or will the letter that I have suffice?
I appreciate this group and the through answers you all have given me on previous questions.
