Here it states 'single entry only' for the 'over 50 with state pension'. This may be out of date. I obtained a multiple entry visa with no problem.

No, I believe they are looking for ฿65,000 pm. The state pension alone may not cover it. I included my other 3 pension statements too. A bit strange, as receipt of state pension is a requirement for this visa. Otherwise, you may need to show £10,000 in a bank statement.

I recently obtained a one year, multiple entry, non-O visa based on being over 50 with state pension, from UK. It was surprisingly straightforward to obtain online. Apart from the usual passport copies, photo etc, I uploaded my pension statements and travel insurance covering letter. Approval came through by email in a couple of days.

I got my non-O from UK last month. They do say that insurance is not required but in the application, there is still a requirement to upload insurance details. Doesn't make much sense, I know, but I just uploaded my UK travel insurance details anyway. Nothing about inpatient/outpatient nonsense. It worked for me.

I made the same mistake once. The IO, said 'don't do it again' and stamped me out normally, with no fine. If she is going to try that, make absolutely sure she gets to the airport in good time, if stopped by police on the street and checked, the consequences can be severe. Safest bet is to stomp up the ฿1900 for an extension, or get a tourist visa before she leaves home.

A multi-entry Non-O will be valid for a year and allow unlimited entries of up to 90 days each time. No deposit required.

I've never had to pay a deposit for a non-O, single- or multi-entry, issued in UK. I think only required for staying more than a year.

Not so, at least in UK. I just buy a non-O (single or multi-entry). Enter for 90 days. If multi-entry, repeat for up to one year. No insurance or deposit of funds required. Just need to show pension statements and be over 50. Easy, really.

It was certainly an option in UK, when I applied for mine last month. May be different in Oz though.

Not sure why you need to open bank account, deposit cash or sign lease. I've been coming every year since 2010 and never done any of those.
