Hello, newbie here...I would really appreciate some guidance. I hope to stay in Thailand 90 consecutive days at a time. I qualify for O visa, but I can't live in Thailand full time. My question is, can I apply for O visa everytime I come to Thailand, which gives me 90 days, then not extend it for the full year, and repeat the same process the following year? I am an American but not retired yet. Thanks in advance for sharing your wisdom and sage advice. Lu

TLDR : Answer Summary
The original poster, an American expat, inquired about the possibility of applying for a Non-O visa to stay in Thailand for 90 consecutive days, without residing full-time in the country. The responses indicated that it is feasible to apply for a single entry Non-O visa each year, allowing for 90 days of stay. However, there were considerations regarding the specific reasons for qualifying for the Non-O visa and the related documentation. Some commenters suggested alternatives, such as obtaining a 60-day tourist visa with a possible extension for an additional 30 days.

I get a multi-entry non-O (over 50). I come into Thailand for up to 90 days each visit. Visa valid for one year.

@Geoff ******
which is NOT the same as applying for a single entry 90 day Non-O and comin' to thailand on it, not extending it, then next time applying for another one

No problem at all to get it every year, if you like the hassle with the documents and requirements

Yes you can do this.

The question is, what reason for Non-O you would qualify and how often you want to travel to Thailand?
Cary ******
Just get a 60 day tourist visa in the US. You can extend that for 30 days.

@Cary *****
Why when it's just as easy to get the non-o 🤔

@Cary *****
but probrably limited to 2 of these in each calendar year

Which Thai embassy are you talking about?

There is no limit on 2 tourist visa each calendar year, I guess you mixed the rule about entry without any visa, named a visa exempt entry by land or sea borders
Russell ********
@Robert ******
not Embassy. Immigration

There is no official limit, but this is TH. Several people have told me that officials are using their judgement as to whether these are really used for Tourism purposes, which of course many are not.

Its realistic to expect both sides to spot a loophole.

but he says he will ONLY be in Thailand one time EACH Year.

im not sure he does, but in any case, it may not correspond to calendar years- we dont know his circumstances. Some immigrations are making this limitation.

Im talking Tourist Visa bounce here.

You should have no problems getting a single entry Non-O once a year.
