What documents are required to send for an O-A visa application after applying online via the London Embassy?

I have just completed and paid for my online O-A visa via the London Embassy. I wish to send the application by post but which documents to send? The online printout only asks for: barcode reference, passport, GBP Β£10 in cash and return address. No mention of: passport photo, medical certificate, police certificate, financial statements or copies of any other uploaded documents. Is this correct? Are originals of uploaded documents no longer required?

TLDR : Answer Summary
After applying online for an O-A visa through the London Embassy, the required documents to send by post include the barcode reference, your passport, GBP Β£10 in cash, and a return address. Originally, it was unclear if additional documents such as passport photos, medical certificates, police certificates, financial statements, or notarized copies of uploaded documents were needed. However, applicants later report that the embassy requires additional bank statements showing pension income along with any uploaded pension statements. The situation indicates that the visa requirements can evolve, and it's advisable to confirm any changes directly with the embassy.

This isn't the first time. London are now asking more and more, where the future income is actually coming from. They list an 'Income Certificate'. In the UK, this means a letter of income from a pension provider.

Although they issue an O-A visa at 50 years old, very few people can draw a private pension until they are 55 year's old. People not already drawing a state pension at 65 year's old, will now need to be 66 and 67, depending when your born. Now they are legislating, and if they get their way, you will be working until your 75.

No. They did not require bank statements, just pension statements. Anyway, all sorted now.

Just received the following email from the London Embassy:

"Dear Sir/Madam,

Received. We will proceed your visa.

Kind Regards,

Visa Officer"

Mission accomplished 😎

They asked for the statements to be emailed, so I printed, scanned and sent them off last night. Let's see if that will suffice. All my pension providers send me a statement of income, at least annually, or as the monthly rate changes. This was always good enough for the non-O but the O-A is a different beast.

you better hope that a simple bank statement is enough. If they actually want a letter from your pension provider showing the amount of income, that normally takes anywhere between 4 and 6 weeks to produce due to needing to work the future figures out.

I don't think its the bedding in of the system is what the problem is.

The problem imo, is them not requiring hard copys of the documents in the first place when using the postal option. That in my mind is all to do with them not wanting to store it, post it all back, needing A4 envelopes, weighing it all and due to costs, the Β£10 probably wouldn't cover the postage.

The requirements from the MFA via the London Embassy seem to change overnight and without warning. This may be because of the new online system bedding in but is it a coincidence that all changes appear to make applications more onerous?

For the record, I have just received an email from the London Embassy asking me to send 3 months bank statements showing my pension income. This is in addition to the uploaded pension statements.

Are you certain they only require the bar code and passport? I believe they require all the documents you have scanned and uploaded. Hence copies of original documents need to be notorized and original documents are not returned.

Not sending the original documents would mean documents could easily be altered using a PDF editor and opening themselves up to the biggest fraud ever.

Very surprising if that is the case.

Thank you for the confirmation. Certainly makes things easier but I guess it could delay an application if they do ask for original documents. I will allow a few more days just in case.

Here is the answer guys. Seems once again they have changed what they require from a month ago.

I have no idea what 'Normally' actually means or 'Checking on a case by case basis' It's even more bizarre that if you attend the Embassy after applying with online E Visa, you need to supply the documents but not if you post after applying by E visa πŸ€”

Either way, it is what is.

I was surprised too as there have been conflicting instructions over the past few weeks as the new process has rolled out. As
@Peter **********
says, the downloaded instructions are quite clear and seemingly backed up in his phone call. I have a couple of weeks until my postal submission deadline, so I'll hang fire until I hear more from you guys.
