Has anyone with the DTV left Thailand and re entered with it? And is there anything to prepare, or enter as usual?

My husband and I are planning on retiring in Thailand in 3-6 years, so we are doing all our research now thru then. My question is as a married couple do we both need to have 800,000 bath in a Thai bank? Or just one of us? Can we have the 800,000 for one of us and 65,000 /mnth income for the other one of us?

I’ve rented a condo in Thailand. Tomorrow, I’ll be flying to Thailand and moving into my new home. I have a DTV visa, and this will be my first entry into the country with it.

1) When should I go to immigration for the TM30?

2) If I need to do it immediately, will spending my first night at a hotel mean I won’t have to file the TM30 for the next 90 days?

3) For the first TM30 application, can I go to the immigration office, then do the renewals online?

Apologies, guys. I’m a bit new to all of this. Hope this thread helps others too.

I'm curious about the extension process after 180 days. Do I need to show a bank statement of 500000 baht again, or is it just a matter of paying the visa fees to get the extension?

Hi. If an application is made in Chiang Mai for a 90 day Non O based on retirement do the funds have to be seasoned before the application or is it sufficient just to have 800,000 bht in the account?

Hi, when applying for an Non Inmigrant O visa based on Thai wife (90 days) and the subsequent extension of stay (12 months), in which of the 2 processes one must show prove of deposit of 400K thb for at least 2 months?

In some places I read that you need the money deposited 2 months before applying for the visa and in others that you need it 2 months before applying for the extension of stay.

Sticking to the same theme of the 'Non-O Extension' 12 MONTH BANKING (yep, I did a search) 800k Route

I just hopped onto my BKK bank app, requested a full year's statement, and boom—I got it in 2 minutes flat. My entire account history is right there on 13 pages.

Is this all we need, along with a bank verification letter? Could it really be this simple after everything I've read?

UPDATE: "No" is the answer. It's not that easy!!. I went to Bangkok Bank today and ordered the 12 month statements that should be here in 5-7 days!! I am on the 800k deposit system. In the old days I MIGHT! have spent a few hours faking the "no-harm" bank statement... NOT TODAY :)

Sorry if a bit long winded. Looking for some advice. I’m Australian, over 50 and married to a Thai, although the marriage is not registered here. We have 2 kids, 1/2 Thai, one lives here in Phuket with my wife. I am currently in Phuket.

I was incorrectly led to believe i could get a guardian visa and my child’s school prepared the paperwork, but a guardian visa hangs off the kid’s (Ed, I assume)visa, and since he is a Thai citizen he does not have a visa.

I was then told I need to apply for a Custodian to a Thai Child visa, but on closer inspection the requirements list I was given by Phuket immi says the foreigner must have sole custody of the child. A copy of what I was given is attached as a photo.

1. Does this visa really only work if sole custody? Is there a joint custody equivalent?

2. Given my circumstances (over 50 and married to a Thai) are retirement and married the only options I have (ignoring Elite, Ed and Ltr for now)? And if so which is best/easiest?

I feel exhausted after a long hot day at HKT immi, where they also reminded me I have ‘too many’ stamps in my passport.

Thanks for kind advice. Cheers, KO
