I was born Naples (Bacoli) so, I understand that calling of the sea. Yes, Patong is a ghost town. But I was actually referring to all Phuket. I like to do all the adventurous activities as well but, I also like to eat a meal at a nice restaurant or, stay in a nice hotel. Many have shut up shop and are waiting for the return of the Farang. Just be aware of that, ok.

When was the last time you visited Phuket? Since this whole Covid malarkey began, it’s not at all what you remember it as. The only area that’s tolerable, is Phuket town.... Everywhere else is a ghost town!

right now you should be opening a business that targets Thai clientele. Anything aimed at foreigners or tourists, is going to take a long time to get going.

Repatriation flights and then headed straight to quarantine, sounds fair. I agree with Thailand making it as easy as possible for their citizens to return. But personally, I wouldn’t get on that flight with those untested Thais 🤷‍♂️

Qatar and Eva always checked but, were always happy to let me board the plane. Malaysia and Cathay Pacific never checked. Emirates, I can’t remember... As I said, never had an issue but, always had it in my mind I could book a return flight on the spot, if necessary. The circumstances may have changed now, I’ll accept, because it’s not like you can say “I’m travelling on to Cambodia” or one of the many other explanations I gave.
