Three-day workcation approval in London - sharing to help others as the posts here were very helpful for me
Submitted application Thursday late afternoon. Requested extra documents Monday lunchtime, submitted extra documents Monday afternoon and approved on Tuesday afternoon.
I submitted:
* Cover letter explaining my remote freelance work, my website and social media, with proof of portfolio and screenshots of payments from customers
* WISE bank statemeent with income from freelance work highlighted, I also downloaded and included the 'proof of account ownership' document that WISE offers
* Proof of funds in a seperate SANTANDER account that had been in account for exactly 10 days, I requested an interim statement from the bank for the 10th day and then went into branch where they printed and stamped it for me
* Evidence of UK rental income I also earn - I explained in the cover letter that this was not part of my freelance work, but included to highlight my financial security
* Booked a refundable flight, but wasn't asked to show the ticket. Just had to provide flight number and origin/destination of flight. They did say in the follow up email they may require proof of this
Extra documents"
* Two formal letters that I e-signed (wasn't asked to sign) confirming that I can work remotely in Thailand, would not work with Thai customers and that I would remain in the UK for duration of visa application.
Maybe I got lucky and they weren't busy, or maybe it was because I'd read so many posts on here I submitted everything that I thought they might ask for, either way was very surprised how quick it was!
In a previous post of mine it was mentioned that getting a METV raises suspicions to the immigration officer if arriving before on visa exempt. Is that correct? Am I actually better coming again on a visa exemption? I thought with an METV it would be a breeze. Will be visiting from the UK , January -March (60 days) and May-July(60 days).
I will be applying for a DTV soft power when I am back in the uk. So applying through the London embassy as uk passport holder. When I input flight details into the e visa system can I just put my proposed flight details using Emirates or Qatari flight numbers or do I actually have the tickets bought already?
Hi what is the situation on the visa I need to Arrive in Thailand from the UK 🇬🇧 I believe I need to submit an online application 48 hrs before travel TIA
Good morning learned friends, I am hoping to draw on some of your experience and knowledge please...
I'm a UK citizen/passport holder and have just returned from Thailand having stayed just under 3 months on the 2 month Visa exemption plus 1 month extension. All good, no issues.
So, I'm currently back in the UK and beginning the online process to apply for the new DTV. I have a couple of questions I can't seem to find answers for.
If I submit the application online as required (plus all the correct documentation, of course)... while I'm waiting for the approval email (fingers crossed) can I fly to Spain, and then enter Thailand directly from there once I have that approval?
Similar to above question... Could I fly to Thailand on another visa exemption, then return to the UK (or somewhere else?) before re-entering on the DTV approval email?
(I know that some visa applications require that you stay in the country from which you are applying until completed; USA springs to mind re the green card. Or at least that used to be the case)
Hopefully, some legal mind or experienced UK DTV holder can shed some light on this issue for me. Thanks in advance for any insights.
What supporting documents should I upload Thai embassy E-Visa? I live in the uk.
I have my passport uploaded and a photo of me but it’s asking for booking confirmation - I have attached a screenshot of my stay length and hotel as you can only submit one document per answer?
Also it’s asking for proof of location - I have used my driving license with my address on it?
In addition it’s asking for my flights - which I have used a screen shot of my plane tickets with names and flight number.
Lastly with the length of stay I have put 179 days as I’m applying for a multi entry tourist visa?
I know it’s only 60 days at a time though so should I put 60 days on the application?
