I have come to Thailand on the exemption visa. I spoke to Thai immigration 6 months agoand was told that I could come into Thailand and then apply for my 90 day non immigrant O visa. I arrived last week and spoke to them about it. Thay have now said that I can't do it at immigration. Their advice was to apply for a 90 day non immigrant O e visa from inside Thailand, wait until they send the confirmation email and then leave the country. When I come back into Thailand that will activate the 90 day visa. I checked the E visa website and the first thing it says is that you can't apply for the visa inside Thailand. I would like to know if anyone has done it this way and if they were successful. Please help, Ive been told so many different things my heads in a spin. Thanks.
I have a couple of doubts that I hope you skilled people can help me resolve.
I’m planning on entering Thailand with an exemption visa in circa a week from Vietnam through Bangkok airport. I was thinking, once there, maybe after a month or something, asking for a Multiple-Entry Tourist Visa.
First question is if you think it is possible to ask for this type of visa while already in the country with an exemption visa.
Second question is I’ve read that the visa is six months long for up to 60 days stays, i was wondering if it means that I can entry the country for 6 months or I can stay in the country 6 months. What I mean is what if I stay 60 days in the country and 30 in another country and then get back for other 60 days etc, would it work for more then a year? Just trying to understand how it works.
I hope my question was clear as English is not my first language 🙂
Question: I spent more or less 5 months in Thailand in 2024, coming and going. I then came back to my country (France). Would like to go in Thailand again for a couple of weeks. Yet it has not been one year since I am out. I am wondering whether I did not extend my days for one year? Should I wait 2025? Cannot find this info anywhere
If you arrive on a 60 days exemption visa, but you wait 2 weeks to apply for TM30 (owning a house) will you get a fine ? Will it be a problem when applying for the non-immigrant O visa based on retirement ?
after a bounce to Chiang Khong to break my 11 year O/A ret. chain and returning to Chiang Mai with a 30 day exemption [to the townhouse i have lived in with a lease for 7 years] ... do i need to report to C.M. Imm.?
HI - we are coming to Phuket island - can we travel on the 45 day visa and get a 30 day extension or is it better to just get a 60 day visa? thank you in advance
thanks all for the advice and help - we are going to apply for 60 day visa and then get the 30 day extension *
Does anyone know if you can get an education visa for less than 12 months? im looking for 3 months or 6 months ! Thank you! 🙂 please let me know asap (currently on 45 day exemption) I can renew for 30 days but then need it sorted within this time period as I’m pregnant and won’t be able to fly,
Can use same PCR test if the travel dates are within the 72 hours. Print 2 copies. Fit to fly certificate not required but doesn't hurt to have.
ATK test at Phnom Penh airport was easy but painful. The guy jammed the swab in my nose so far and rough I bled. He laughed.
Flew Thai Smile the next day back to BKK. They will check ALL Thai Pass required documents. If you are entering Thailand on a VOA or exemption she will ask to see the departure ticket from Thailand. She entered my departure ticket into the computer for verification.
Takes awhile for all this, so it helps to have everything printed and organized
Arrived in BKK:
Easy if you have all documents printed and organized
Immigration not busy at all. 15 minutes.
Exemption visa approval without checking bank statement or departure ticket but must show proof of address where staying. I have rental contract
Hotel rep will check your docs and call the taxi. Wait about 15 minutes.
A nice private sedan will pick you up and take you to the PCR test site then to hotel.
