I'm married in America to a thai. She owns a home in Bangkok but we live in America full time. I want to go back to Thailand this year and have dental work done that will take approximately 2 to 3 months to complete. I want to live in her home while I'm there. With covid and quarantining what do I need to go there and live there for three months. My plan is to retire there in ten years. We have not been married in Thailand yet. Thanks ahead of time.

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user seeks guidance on visa requirements to stay in Thailand for 2 to 3 months for dental work while living in Bangkok, where their Thai spouse owns a home. Comments suggest that entry eligibility may be limited due to COVID-19 restrictions, and it's recommended to contact the Thai embassy for current information. A tourist visa might suffice for a 3-month stay, allowing for an initial 60 days with possibilities for extension. Quarantine measures must also be considered before travel.

For a 3 month stay, all you need is a tourist visa

I entered thailand in january with a tourist visa... If you enter with TR visa that gives you 60 days and you can extend + 30 days. You can go and live where you want in Thailand :)

Welcome :)

Yes. To enter thailand you have to show the COE, and to get your COE, one of the paperwork required is the payment proof of your quarantine hotel

It said foreigners who are in need of medical treatment in Thailand. Wouldn't major dental work qualify ?

Not sure John. I have in the past couple of days completed all the required Visa and COE at the Embassy in Doha and had to show my various documents including, a marriage certificate and proof of where I would be staying from my wife on completion of the quarantine period. The information I attached was from the Embassy Website and this is the direction I followed in order to secure my travel documents. It is always worth checking out any updates to the entry process, as pointed out above, as entry requirements change frequently. Take care and hope you get your dental work carried out in Thailand.

@Da***
this is long out of date, they are allowing people in for any reason now, even visa exempt tourists with no visa, as long as they quarantine. They have even extended the 30 day exemption to 45 days to account for the quarantine period. A COE from a Thai embassy is still required.

@David ******
, your wrong about the elite visa too .

@David ******
that is many months old...now anyone can apply for a TR60 or visa exempt (if their passport country is eligible)...of course all the COVID restrictions apply...hotel quarantine, COE, F2F, COVID insurance, COVID test within 72 hours
