Hello, anyone from Germany got the 60 day covid extension for their Visa? As far as I heard you need a paper from german embassy telling that you can't go back. I can't imagine that the german embassy will issue such a paper. Thanks!

TLDR : Answer Summary
Expats from Germany seeking a 60-day COVID extension for their visa in Thailand can fill out an extra form at immigration, stating their inability to travel. They do not require a letter from the German embassy, as it has been confirmed that such letters are not issued. It's important to check for the latest updates on visa regulations due to changing policies.

I am German and did my first 60 day extension in November last year for 1900THB. going for my second in the next 2 weeks no letter needed. very easy and no trouble so far. I am in Thailand straight since 15 months now.

well you can get a 30 day extension on that when it expires which will take you up to March sometime 45 + 30 days.

It changes often with immigration I would wait to see what happens by the end of the month or ask the immigration when you go for the extension

Tourist visa plus extension is 60+30... visa exemption is 45+30...

Yes it’s true ..the German embassy will NOT hand out this letter , because you could easily fly home..........try to go now without it and try to catch a new 60 days......

Up until the 29th January (the current ending date of the police order allowing Covid extensions) you shouldn’t need anything from your embassy. Just fill an extra form at immigration stating you are unable to travel.
