correct, im married, living in the states, my wife owns her home in BKK, I was assuming when I fully retire in a couple of years to move there full time and get a marriage visa but now I am not sure. My wife keeps saying marriage visa, she says easy. But reading all these comments, im wondering what's the main issue

I don't understand, the marriage visa renewal once a year, what makes it so complicated? What more could they be asking for besides proof that you're still married and you still have required money in your bank? Also what's the reporting requirement and is it done online?
