you don't need a return ticket, since you get 180 days at each entry. Do you already have your DTV done?

for 6 months, all you need is a multiple entry tourist visa. Apply at your local embassy, through the e-visa website.

all visa applications are non-refundable, regardless of outcome.

Instead of just denying his application, they gave him a 6 month tourist visa.

TM30 can be done online.

But if you don't have to deal with immigration before leaving the country, during each stay, (i.e. to get a resident certificate) you can skip both.

Embassies issue emergency passport and process real passport applications. I'm Swedish and my two latest passports were issued in Singapore and Thailand.

Thai immigration don't process visas. Embassies and consulates outside of Thailand do.

Contact the embassy and explain that Australians don't walk around with birth certificates, and ask wtf they're doing asking for that.

Just because your first stamp is 180 days, doesn't mean you have to stay 180 days.

Come and go as you please. You showed 500k in an account when you applied, you can afford renting a condo here and traveling as you please around Asia.

Sounds like you dealt with an ignorant Immigration officer.

Of course they should be accepted for a visa application, as your money is with them.

But this is Thailand, things will never make sense here. Just fly up to Luang Prabang for a weekend instead 🤷‍♂️

All of them..? Your thai visa has nothing to do with your entry requirements for other countries.
