- OK, so neither the covid extension or the retirement extension will reset the timer, correct? Do you know the +/- days to report? We will get our covid extension 2 days before our non-o expires, I'm guessing that will be a good time to report as well. I believe I've read that the first report has to be in person, and all others can be online if the system is working. And even though we updated our change of address after we got to Pattaya, that doesn't count, different process/system I assume? Thank you.
- well I definitely did say the immigration officer at cw was clear we had to do it there in Bangkok. It is a fascinating way to bypass the system all due to covid. On the other hand, it was covid that kept us from traveling to Pattaya earlier and getting the non-o at Jomtien. Same same. ๐
Starting next weekend they will be having music festivals on the beach in Pattaya. We love it here.
Yep, that's the plan. We weren't too distressed with the idea of going back to Bangkok, an easy bus ride. Just thought it would be nice to stay in Pattaya a bit longer. Wasted money getting the bank cert and statement. Oh well, I'm sure the bank needed the money. ๐
We went to Jomtien to get our retirement extension, the guy looked at it and said because we got the non-o in Bangkok, we had to get the first year extension in Bangkok. We were about to leave and I asked if we could get the covid extension here. He said yes, then I asked if we got the covid extension here, could we then get the retirement extension in Jomtien. He asked someone behind the counter, and he said yes. An interesting way to bypass the system.
So we applied for the covid extension today, we have 30 days left on our non-o. The under consideration period is a crazy 28 days. That 28 days is on a Friday, our non-o expires that Sunday. No room for error. I don't know why the under consideration time is so long, considering we couldn't apply at Jomtien before 30 days left on our visa.
