OK, we got our 30 day extension to our 45 day visa exempt entry today at MTT. Got there around 930, out in less than an hour. They didn't want the tm30. Jomtien always wanted it and the wait was always long.
Grab taxi from Nana plaza 250 baht plus 95 for highway tolls. Taxi took us all the way behind to the tented entrance. It is counter k on the 3rd floor. No one in line.
Grab taxi back to Nana square 225 baht no freeway.
Thanks all for the help and advise, it was easier than I thought it could be.
I don't know if we could have gotten the 60 day covid extension, but I think the timing works out to get it next month just before it expires, which it likely won't.

TLDR : Answer Summary
A user successfully extended their 45-day visa exempt entry by 30 days at the Bangkok immigration office (MTT). They found the process efficient, taking less than an hour without needing the TM30 form, contrasting their previous experiences at Jomtien. Travel costs for taxis from Nana Plaza were approximately 250 baht plus tolls for the trip to the immigration office, with an update on the potential for a 60-day COVID extension next month. Comments confirmed the user’s insight about the extension process and its smooth execution.
glad to hear it went well. I had the same impression as you, I’ve done the extension in jomtien before but never in Bangkok and was also surprised how smooth it went. You need to have the 30 day extension first before you can do 60 day btw. And you can actually go extended 3 weeks before your extension expires.
Thanks for the update. I’d agree and say it’s unlikely they’ll end the Covid extension by September but they never normally announce dates until closer to the time so we won’t know for a while.
- that's what we thought in Malaysia. They had amnesty for over a year, then last April they told all foreigners with social visit passes to leave, with few exceptions made. We came in thru a border crossing and had to fly out.
