I was reading agoda website regarding asq. It says you have to make the booking at least 10 days before check-in. Is this a reality? It also says asq is 15 nights, pretty sure it's 14 if you check in before 6pm.

TLDR : Answer Summary
The discussion revolves around the rules for Alternative State Quarantine (ASQ) bookings in Thailand. According to various comments, while Agoda states that bookings must be made at least 10 days in advance, some suggest booking directly through hotels if needed sooner. The duration of the quarantine has been clarified by multiple users: although it officially requires a 15-night stay, check-in day is not counted, meaning a proper stay could be 14 nights if checked in before 6 PM. However, many still stress that regardless of check-in time, ASQ packages cover all necessary expenses, and the actual counting starts from the day following check-in.
Irrespective of all the comments you get I can inform you that arrival before 6pm I s day 1 and you will stay 14 nights! That's official direct from the hotel owner in Bangkok. And that's what the government have instructed him to do
If your scheduled landing time is before 6pm then that is day 1, otherwise the following day will be day 1. This changed sometime ago and has been widely reported in this group.
The day you arrive and check in is not counted regardless of when you check in. I went through it back in December and in total was 15 nights and 16 days.
You have to buy the package so even if they let you out bang on 14 days you wont get a reduction in price. The package includes all tests, meals and transfer in a biosecure vehicle from BKK to your hotel.
As for the 15 nights, I remember someone saying that you need to be in there for 14 full days, so regardless of what time you check in the first day won’t count.
- it seems that using agoda for asq is a process of paperwork and approvals, and of course it comes with meals, testing, transfers. Not sure that booking direct will cover the requirements.
- you guys are suggesting I go to the hotel website to book directly? I can look at that, but I would suspect the price will be higher, I may be wrong.
email the hotel, contact them through fb, send them a message in Line, but do not use the online booking system. The hotels are all used to it, it was the only method of booking for a year.
book your ASQ directly with the hotel. This is how it was done for almost a year before agoda started offering the service. All of the ASQ hotels would rather you book directly anyway, it saves them from having to give agoda a commission
