Would someone please explain the 90 day reporting requirement? What resets it, what doesn't?

Came in on 45 day visa exempt.

Got 30 day extension.

Got 90 day non-o based on retirement.

Relocated and updated residency at Jomtien within 24 hours.

Currently in consideration for 60 day covid extension.

Thanks!

TLDR : Answer Summary
The 90-day reporting requirement in Thailand applies to holders of long-term visas, such as the NON-O visa. The countdown for this requirement starts when you apply for the NON-O visa, and you must report every 90 days thereafter. Specific visa types like tourist visas do not require this reporting due to their short duration. When you make a 90-day report, you receive a slip confirming your next due date. The reporting timer resets only if you leave Thailand.

Tourist Visa/extension don't have 90 day reporting because they're not long enough to require it.

When you applied for the non-o is when the timer started. From that point you need to report after 90 days. When you make your 90 day report is what restarts the timer. Each time you do it they will give you a slip of paper that says when your next one is due. The only thing that will "reset" it after that is leaving Thailand.

Just to add to that,,, and this is Phuket, they re did my 90 day report when I applied for my one year extension, even though I'd just done it like 3 weeks previously.

some offices now are doing a new 90 day report for you whenever you use another service to reduce trips because of Covid. But it's not 100% and not something to rely on so we don't really mention it much here.

- OK, so neither the covid extension or the retirement extension will reset the timer, correct? Do you know the +/- days to report? We will get our covid extension 2 days before our non-o expires, I'm guessing that will be a good time to report as well. I believe I've read that the first report has to be in person, and all others can be online if the system is working. And even though we updated our change of address after we got to Pattaya, that doesn't count, different process/system I assume? Thank you.

you can report 14 days before up to 7 days after.
