I don't doubt it's possible to enter literally just before it expires, but are you 100% certain they'll extend a visa that's expired? I get it, they've already stamped you in, granting you the 180 days. And you have 'the right' to extend that entry, but - technically - the visa itself has expired. Is there a precedent for this with other visas?

My surface level feedback: you significantly increase the odds of getting the DTV if you are 1. physically located in the country of your passport/nationality 2. your businesses are registered there 3. you do business within that country 4. your currency is in that country 5. your addresses tie to that country 6. you apply within that country.

Haha amazing. I had no idea they were doing that. They should either issue the DTV or nothing, IMO

Exact same experience I had when entering just under 2 weeks ago. I handed her my passport, printed A4 DTV, and boarding pass. Had the DTAC up on my phone but already knew they don't ask for it.

The IO literally said nothing. Not a single word.

She was so fast, I reckon it's the fastest I've ever been processed (likely owed to the huge line behind me).

When did you enter Thailand previous to this and how long did you stay for?

How many entries have you made in the past few years?

Hi so you mean you didn't do the report on one entry, left on day 94, came back, had no problems, and then when the next 90 day report was due you actually did it with no issues? Which immigration office did you do the report at? Thanks

Thank you for replying. That's really surprising to hear as some people say you must do it. I've not seen it claimed before the 'grace' period after it's due 'counts' towards whether you actually do it or not. Also I would question what one immigration office says compared to another (there's rarely any consistency between them)

The visa itself is valid for 5 years. You could literally enter the date it was issued (as stated on the visa they send you), or enter the same day it expires.

That's the whole point: you are permitted to enter Thailand on that visa within its issue and expiry date. There's no obligation to enter within X timeframe after it was issued etc.

There's been reports of people exiting Thailand at the 180 day point, going to another country whether that be by land or air, and then literally re entering Thailand the next day.

If it were me, I personally would leave it a few days at least. But that's just me being cautious.

Oh wait; you're not a British passport holder/citizen?

Well I got my DTV from the UK last year and didn't get any of the additional checks you've been asked for, so either you were unlucky or they're being far more stricter now.
