Wondering if anyone else has had a similar experience. I applied for a DTV. Today I received an e-mail stating approved. However, visa type says Tourist TR. Multiple entries and valid for 6 months.
This does not seem to be the DTV. Can't understand why I was given a Visa I didn't apply for. Or indeed a rejection e-mail for the DTV. Any advice? Thank you.
I would like to ask for some advice regarding the Destination Thailand Visa (DTV), based on my personal situation.
My main source of income comes from property rental. I manage a rental property that provides regular income, and this has been my main source of earnings for several years. I don’t have a classic online or remote job, but I can clearly demonstrate sufficient funds and financial stability if required.
I’ve spoken with an agency that claims many “traditional” DTV applications are being rejected or delayed for weeks, while they offer a fast-track option (1–3 days) at a high cost.
Before considering that route, I’d like to understand whether my profile (rental income / asset-based income rather than online employment) is generally acceptable for a standard DTV application.
Has anyone here with a similar background (property rental, passive or asset-based income) successfully applied for the DTV through the regular embassy process? If so, where did you apply and what kind of documentation was most important?
Any real experiences or insights would be very helpful.
1. I‘m planning to apply for a visa in Hanoi. For the question, “Is your permanent address the same as your current address?”, should I check “Yes” and write my address in Korea, or should I check “No”?
2. For the question, “Have you ever applied for a Thai visa?”, my DTV visa was rejected twice. Should I check “Yes” for this question?
3. How many months’ hotel reservation should I provide at minimum for my stay in Thailand?
Hello, we are a family of 4 preparing to apply for a workation DTV through the Los Angeles consulate.
My husband and I jointly own our companies together as 50/50 partners. We are both employees of the companies. It seems like when submitting the application, it needs to be from one applicant and couples are not applying jointly together.
I'm wondering how to navigate this application process.
1. I could apply first, then the rest of the family can apply and I'll sponsor them.
2. My husband and I could both send in our applications at a similar time.
What would be the pros and cons to each?
Los Angeles consulate seems to have a high rate of rejections, which is why I thought perhaps we could send in 1 application first, then the rest of the family can become dependents.
Another question is: How should we navigate the fact that the business and all of our accounts have both our names listed on them, as opposed to just my own? Will he need to write a letter or something? What should that letter say?
Just wanted to share my experience. After two rejections, the first one in The Netherlands, the second one in Vietnam, I've finally been approved for the DTV Workation Visa.
I went to Laos, and in comparison to the two previous applications, I would strongly recommend anyone being in doubt to do the same. In Laos is the 'in-person' interview, which gives you the opportunity to explain your situation and show your finances.
For me personally, I believe the reason my first two applications were rejected, is because of a more complex company owning structure, which they don't seem to understand in Thailand, but which is common in The Netherlands. The in-person interview gives you the possibility to explain everything properly in person, with showing additional proof of income through your bank app.
Laos/Vientiane is not the most entertaining city in the world, but the total process in Laos cost me 10 days.
