from what others are saying you get the non o visa from UK, showing funds in UK account, giving me 90 days to then open bank account (which I cannot do any other way from what I know) I can then deposit 800k and apply for retirement visa ..that's my understanding

Oh this post has been a great help, so you apply online via thai embassy in the UK, it would be 90 days I'm looking.for initially, but all I read was the 800k in thai bank, so, this post says merely proof of funds...

I seem to have read that it's 90 days from issue, which is a ball ache as I plan to utilise full 90 days on travel, is that correct or 90 days from entry

2nd question, I pressume getting the non 0 visa, that will enable me to obtain bank account, ( i own a property here, have driving licences, have sim card but unaware if mine or my GFs). Cheers

Interesting, I stayed in pattaya for almost 60 days, flew out to malaysia for about 5 days, returning through don mueng, felt it wasn't a given they were going to let me back in...called a supervisor over before stamping me in for another 60 days, even though I was staying only another week or so...
