and the most painful to deal with, zero interest on deposits and make you wait a week for statements for visa renewal also lied about online banking (we had a joint account) switched to SCB 4 years ago statements and letter while you wait and 2.5% on my 800k never looked back they also closed their branches in Rawai - so glad we moved.

I do 65k a month through WISE to SCB no issues….

to ensure you live where you say when you apply, renew…..they like to know where we are, that’s fine with me nothing to hide……if they can’t find you, won’t end well when you go to renew….🫤

they check that when you renew, hence the bank statements, the visit is to determine that you live where you have declared you live….comfortable with that….if people lie about their residence they will struggle to renew when the time comes as system will flag them

Heaps of info on embassy websites if you Google it, one thing they make clear is, funds B800k per applicant, has to be in a current account, initially in your home country then in Thailand once you move - this is intended to ensure you can support yourselves and cover medical expenses. Savings, deposit accounts etc are not acceptable. Once you are established here , you can move to a dependent visa for you wife (so only one 800k) and also switch to 65k per month for subsequent years.
