I’d a total waste of time and money experience in HK a few weeks ago, and it was meant to be straight forward. Someone had mentioned filling up their quota, so further applications are just denied.
@Kyle *******
maybe rethink Hanoi then mate.

no reason at all? Was so so easy when I was there in October last year. I’d prepared everything, like you always should, handed it over, quick check and out within 10 mins.

Tbh I’m not flying anywhere else and spending more money, as the same thing could easily repeat itself. I’ve never encountered such incompetence in all my puff.

of course mate, do what I’m told. Left with a setv and had to fight for it. Same story with every other person too, although many just walked off empty handed. I suggested they update their website to reflect this, and train all their staff so they aren’t giving out wrong info over the phone; “we don’t have to do anything!!!” What a farce!

So they’re only willing to grant me a SETV and are telling me that be changing to a work permit in Bangkok. I have not accepted this yet as the left hand does not know what the right hands doing. I want to know for sure before I accept can this be done?

I know US consulates generally only accept US citizens, but that’s clearly stated on the website. I’ve written my begging letter and now have to wait for “however long it takes.” Trying to remain calm while being spoken down to like some piece of shit is a true test of my character 😂

yes. I’m here for a non immigrant B. Website does not state HK resident only and my employer called last week to verify documents needed and was not told. I’ve queued again stating all this and they’ve asked me to write a letter for their supervisor to look over. Getting permanent residency for the USA was a breeze compared to this.
