Had a work permit, now cancelled and on the amnesty. My 90 report is due soon, do I still need to do it?

TLDR : Answer Summary
The necessity of completing a 90-day report while on amnesty after a work permit cancellation can vary. There are indications that 90-day reports might be shelved until the end of July. Some users report successfully completing their reports even with delays, while others recommend doing so to avoid issues later, particularly with immigration potentially being busy. It's advisable to clarify your visa status (e.g., Non-B visa) as it significantly impacts your requirements.

What about if you have a non b and a work permit (non b already extended for 12 months) and your old employer cancels your work permit and then your non b is automatically cancelled. Are you on amnesty?

Yes similar thing with me now. My contract ends July 15, and I have already signed my papers to resign, since they cut off many ppl and don’t extend many contracts. I asked my HR they told me that my Non B visa is until October 6. And I just did my 90- day report a few weeks ago. Next one is said to be done on Sep 9. But since my company will terminate my WP after I finish work, how about the amnesty? HR told me that since there are no flights to my country and no one knows when the borders will open I’m good to stay for now. But once the flights will resume I will need to leave Thailand. But I’m looking for a new job now urgently. Hoping to find something ASAP. As leaving for me is not an option. Thanks in advance for any advise.

news flash a work permit doesn't let you stay IN thailand (it's issued by the MOL and lets you work here) How about stating what type of VISA or extension you're on now? <- that's what you got from the immigration office and is what lets you stay here ;)

yes your post is confusing and others comments I think are are for non 0 but what about us with non b visas we can't stamp inside thailand ....or did immigration yet you 🤔 please explain

if you are on a year-long, multi-entry Non-Immigrant VISA (doesn't matter type O or B) <- that you got from a thai consulate in another country where you bounce out and back every 90 days you go on automatic amnesty when your 90 day stamp runs out.

I know that the 90 day reporting supposedly has been shelved due to CV19, but I wanted to make sure my yard arm was clear. So, I went to KK immigration on Monday to physically do the 90 report. Literally took 5 mins and no snags whatsoever.

I did mine last week. I assumed that immigration could be extremely busy in July coming up to the end of the amnesty. Now I don’t have to go back until mid-September.

@Brett ******
what visa did you extend until September you don’t have to go back?

I hold an O-A Non Immigrant visa that I extend each year. I did that in June so good until June next year. I also did my outstanding 90 day report so the next one is due September.

@Brett ******
thanks for your info. I am holding non b visa and my contracts ends October 20, what should I do? The amnesty will extend?

best to talk to immigration. Rules are fluid by location.

You maybe don't need but you can do, I did it twondays ago (with 1 month delay) without any problem and I have 90 days more, I prefer prevention than staying in doubt 😉

90 day reports are shelved until end of July. I have a government graphic somewhere. I'll dig it out.
