After I left my job I went to CW with all the nexcessary paperwork to cancel my extension of stay. The IO did nothing, no stamps etc. I now understand in order to go onto visa amnesty extension I now need this sorted. Do I go back to CW? Will there be any issues due to the lazniness of before?

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user is seeking clarification on whether they need to return to the immigration office (CW) to resolve an issue regarding their extension of stay after their previous visit where no action was taken. They are concerned about potential complications related to this prior lack of assistance, particularly as they now aim to shift to a visa amnesty extension.

and you were on an extension of stay? OR were you still on the original 90 day stamp from getting the Non-B VISA issued?

That went down well. Told me I need the extension cancelled first and had all the paperwork with me, or so I thought. It was missing the PND1 and my ex employer cannot get me this until Thursday. So now on overstay for the first ever time of a 3rd of my life abroad and whatever fine it will be. Funnily enough it was the same lazy IO that did sweet fa in June.

rather annoyed as it means another trip. I assumed the procedure changed bc of the amnesty.

You are gonna hafta go do something before the 31st of Oct though that's for sure because that's when amnesty runs out

Actually you have to do something by this friday because amnesty runs out on Saturday.. ;)

no, it wasn't that. I know several people who were on extensions of stays based on employment who went and cancelled them since amnesty started (back on March 26th) and they all got the cancellation stamps in their passport.

so just laziness then. What’s my best course of action then? Do I need to go to CW to have the stamp, then MTT for 60 day extension?

@Chris ****
nope you'd apply for the 60 day extension at the same desk where you got this current extension of stay issued (and where you tried to cancel it). MTT is ONLY for people on 30 day visa exempt and/or 60 day tourist visa entries..

Ok, cheers Tod. I just go, no appointment needed? What’s the cost, usual 1900 or FOC?

extension of stay. I’ve been told after the fact the IO was just likely lazy.

I ask because it's quite strange that they wouldn't cancel your extension with a stamp that would then put you automatically on amnesty
