I’m at Chaengwattana to cancel my extension of stay. My ex employer cancelled my work permit and advised I go. The officer said I need to do nothing and I’m already on the amnesty. Is this correct?

TLDR : Answer Summary
A user at Chaengwattana is seeking clarification on whether they need to take any further action regarding their extension of stay cancellation, as the officer indicated they are already on amnesty. Some commenters advised to ensure that the stamp for cancellation is placed in the passport for records.

Have them put the cancellation of extension stamp in your passport anyway. Don't take their "you're on amnesty without it answer"

Yes, they directed me to M, then the woman who gives out the numbers checked over my passport and termination papers, then sat me down with another man.

I spoke with an officer in the ‘M’ section, the correct one if I remember correctly.

M section is the business visa extension section so you're good to go I'd say.

It's also the only section that gives it's own queue numbers out :P so you have to go to that section to get the queue for it

totally different, most people cancel their extension based on employment.

Did you talk to an officer in the section where you got the extension issued or did you just talk to some wing-nut manning that information desk or who hands out the queue numbers?
