TLDR : Answer Summary
The conversation revolves around whether there was a reduction in utility bills in Thailand, with various comments reflecting personal experiences of billing discounts. Many expats report receiving significant discounts on their electricity bills, while others share frustrations about landlords possibly charging more than government standards. The discussion also touches on different payment methods used for settling bills, including through stores like 7-11 and banking apps.
i got a copy of my landlords bill from PEA (was 17k) due to having a number of places but even that came with a 3% deduction. I guess if you can present the official amount then you know for sure and can let them know (that you're not the stupid farung they think you are) , and consider how the following could be relevant :
In the end I had a 900 baht discount. I think itβs less than others as I used over 800 units.

paid mine at family mart. discount was about 40%

Paid mine via KBank phone app. As soon as I put bill number in, it automatically deducted the discount from the balance.

What can you do if your apartment landlord is charging 7 instead of the gov standard?
