I’m flying back to BKK tomorrow after 3 months in the US. I have my onward flight & 20k cash, however I’ll be staying with a friend. Will an email stating I’ll be with them, and copy of their id be sufficient for immigration, if asked?

TLDR : Answer Summary
The poster is returning to Bangkok after a trip abroad and inquires about the acceptance of an email from their friend, along with a copy of their friend's ID, as proof of accommodation for immigration purposes. Commenters suggest that simply providing the friend's address on the arrival card is likely sufficient and that additional documentations are often unnecessary unless specifically requested by immigration.

IF you're going to be asked for anything it'll be proof of funds, RARELY do they ever ask for proof of onward travel or proof of lodging.

I will caution ALL posters to STAY ON TOPIC.

Hey Chris. Yes, you should be fine. That’s more than what some others have. No need to give them the email unless they ask for it. Just fill out the address in the arrival card and give it to them with your passport. If they give you a problem just let me know. Enjoy your time and be sure to drink plenty of water as it is getting hot!!!

Write their address on the arrival card and are most likely fine.
