Retirement visa is easier then a marriage visa.

It may be specific to a particular Immigration Office. Never had to have two witnesses when I did my visa/extension

I have mine in since Oct 2. It will take about 15 months for the 1st phase at USCIS. Once approved there it goes to the State Department where you fill out other forms and fees. After about two months or so you have to wait on the Embassy interview which can take months. Like Brandon said it's a waiting game as long as your paperwork and evidence are in order.

Also what does it matter if it is at the beginning or end just put it where it ask.

I'm sure that will be next. It is really ridiculous giving a 5 year visa to someone with one dental appointment or a week cooking course.

Don't know as I haven't had that problem. If you are in Thailand go ask the bank.
