TLDR : Answer Summary
A user is seeking advice on the simplest visa to apply for while returning to Australia, aiming to open a Thai bank account and eventually obtain a marriage or retirement visa. Comments indicate that a NON-O immigrant visa is recommended for opening a bank account and serves as a pathway to both marriage and retirement visas. There is a discussion about the relative ease of obtaining a retirement visa compared to a marriage visa, and the possibility of applying for permanent residency after three years on a marriage visa, which seems to require work and tax contribution.
NON-O RETIREMENT VISA RESOURCES / SERVICES
  • Go to the Retirement Visa Section for information on requirements, including age restrictions, financial requirements, and necessary documentation.
  • For immediate assistance, contact Thai Visa Centre directly via LINE at @ThaiVisaCentre or Email them.
  • Explore recent discussions by using the Non-O Retirement Visa tag in the search box at the top of the page.

The none O is the one you want for both retirement, or marriage. Also makes opening a bank account a lot easier. I am married to. Thai lady, but I am doing the retirement visa, as a lot less paperwork.

Hi Nigel

Being on a retirement visa as you say it’s easier but what about PR . As I have read after three years being on a marriage visa you are eligible for permanent residence.

Correct me if I’m wrong.
