So my wife of 3 years, who has returned to Thailand again, following her second visit to the USA on her Tourist Visa, has been patiently waiting for USCIS to respond to her Green Card application/Spousal Visa for 13 months- that’s 13 months since they received her I-130. She has to get a medical exam done in Bangkok only (we’re told) once she gets an approval.

I am going over to be with her for 2 months on January 23. We’re wondering if we should go ahead, in early March, and get her medical exam scheduled and over with, anticipating word from USCIS. That way she could possibly finish her interview process in the USA, if she returns with me in late March- thoughts??

My Thai wife of 2 1/2 years has been working on trying to finalize her Green Card/I-130 Visa. USCIS received her application in January of ‘24. Does anyone have any idea how much longer this legal approach will take? Any insight will be welcomed. Thanks

I recently joined and have a question about marriage I hope someone can help me with. If I marry a Thai national would she be recognized by US as my wife and allow for entry to America with me without a visa, and if not would it be difficult to get a visa for her? I am in Thailand presently on a Tourist visa.

Hello Everyone! First time posting in the group. Does anybody happen to have any experience or knowledge with the spousal visa CR1 in a foreign country? I’m American and my wife is Filipina We live in Thailand, as I have my retirement visa and she’s a dependent under my retirement visa and Thailand is our home. I tried googling and getting a hold of both embassies in Thailand, and in Philippines, and not getting any definite, clear answers. Does anybody have any knowledge or personal experience in a situation like this? to me, it makes sense to process the visa in Bangkok at the US Embassy since that is our residence but yet she is a Filipina, so not sure if it needs to be done in the Philippines, which that would make no sense to keep going back-and-forth

TIA!

I guess this goes to the "Anything Else" category. I am currently working getting the I-130 done for my wife (prerequisite for the CR1) and needed some Thai translation done. I reached out to [members only]/ and they did a fantastic job! Not the cheapest option, but rapid turnaround of one day and ticked all the boxes for meeting USCIS requirements. If you are looking for translation services on the US side of things, I have found them to be perfect. <disclaimer I am not compensated for this in any way>
