Has the 'Funds for long-term stay in Thailand' option on WISE been removed?

Looks like WISE dropped the category for "Funds for long term stay in Thailand " or words to that effect. Just did a transfer and didn't have that as a reason. Everyone I have done so far this year had that as a reason. I believe though that isn't really necessary for a renewal on a marriage extension of stay.

TLDR : Answer Summary
Users are discussing recent changes to the WISE money transfer app, particularly regarding the options available for indicating reasons for sending funds for long-term stays in Thailand. Some users report that the option for 'Funds for long-term stay in Thailand' is no longer consistently available, while others claim to have seen it return. There is confusion about whether this has implications for visa renewals, particularly for marriage extension visas. The conversation reflects experiences with the app and how transfer reasons might affect immigration processes.

Anyway I did thoroughly check before I hit confirm and it definitely was not on the drop down list. I don't think it will be a problem for me on a marriage extension renewal as all the other transfers show up as foreign transactions.

unless you have a work permit, it will make a difference for not coming from overseas,

its for a marraige extension renewal. Switching from 400k in the bank to 12 monthly transfer that I have been doing for the last two years.

I've been doing it for the last 9 years. If you don't have a work permit they want to see that the bt40,000+ each month came from an overseas source. For the type O extension based on Thai wife they don't care where the bt400,000 came from, but because you are not legally working in Thailand they want to see that the bt40,000+ came from outside of Thailand.

okay thanks for the information.

I think ALL reasons except one will show as an inside-Thailand money transfer. The only reason on the drop down list that will result in coding the transfer as having come from abroad, is "purchase of property"

it depends on the bank. With Bangkok Bank every reason I have used shows up as an international transfer.

Every so often I’ll hear stories like this, but over the past 2 years of me doing the monthly transfer, it’s been good for me and if it wasn’t, I’d switch from smartphone app to PC website or wait a day.

Does wise let you send money from Thailand to your own country, in my case Australia, or is it just to Thailand?

Wise ony sends into Thailand. There is a service called "Dee Money." I set up an account with them maybe 5 years ago and sent a token amount of money (฿500) just to test the service. It worked, I received the money in my US account. However, since that time I've seen other people post horror stories about their money being lost in the ether. Having read these stories, I would probably just use my bank's options if I need to send cash out of Thailand (e.g. Western Union, SWIFT or International Prompt Pay.)

It is weird. I have seen and used it everytime including recently except one time about a month ago. Possibly their server somehow can misidentify an IP address? No i just made that up. No idea why. But this happened to me once too.

I transferred 80k tonight, it was there

The one that is gone, and I’m assuming it’s been gone for a while, is the “general monthly living expenses” one.

So what is the question of is it statement of fact ?

I just made a transfer this afternoon from UK. Previously I used to select, sending money to family. That has been removed, so now I just click the last option which is Other.

When I sent my money in early November the long term stay option was gone. When I sent money in early December it had returned. 🤔

I saw guys posting earlier in the year (maybe October) saying it was gone. Some of them had contacted Wise customer service and apparently they were told to choose "purchase of property" in place of the long stay option, in order to show in their Thai bank book that the money came from outside Thailand.

It’s right there

Immigration etc doesn't care for the reason for transfer. Only the 2 month thing

Apologies gentlemen. I wasn't even aware a 65k method existed
Brown ********
@Cris *****
that's for the 800k. This is in regards to the 65 deposited a month
Glenn *****
@Cris *****
not every one uses the same visa methods as you. With the 65K deposit method, they definitely do care.

I thought I just saw it there earlier when I made a quick transfer. My mind may be playing tricks on me.
