For anyone applying in Canada right now, just wanted to share because I was super nervous before applying and just timing everything accordingly to my move - but DTV was approved from start to finish in 1 day
Submitted everything yesterday, one more document requested at 10am today, fully approved and emailed to me this afternoon
Submitted employment portfolio, 3 months of bank statements then they just requested a copy of my business license and I was good to go!
Could having a very long 1.5 year (no overstays) tourist visa/visa exempt/border run history actually work in someone's favour when applying for DTV. Given you would have already proven your ability to provide for yourself and that you respect the law by never overstaying?
And how strongly does an application moving to "pending approval" indicate success?
Applied for Workation from Bali online on Sunday July 13th, got my approval on Friday night July 18th. Flew to Koh Samui the next morning and got in, no questions asked. He smiled and said "DTV", seemed excited to see one haha.
Applied in Jakarta — and amazingly, it got approved in just three days
Since I didn’t have much time, I decided to go through an agent. Most of the reviews I read said it would take at least 10 days to get approved, so I booked a 10-day stay in Bali just in case.
But unexpectedly, the visa came through early. With this “extra time” on my hands, I’m now seriously considering going one step further — maybe I should just apply for Indonesia’s digital nomad visa?
I’m hoping someone can help me with an answer to this. I am US citizen trying to apply to my local thai embassy which is Washington DC. The consulate visa department never answers their phone or emails I have sent… Does anyone know if I have to keep the 500k bhat in my checking acct for a certain period of time at this embassy location before applying? I keep seeing 3 months in certain places but also saw someone in London applied the day after the $ was put into his acct and he was approved.
