I’m hoping someone can help me with an answer to this. I am US citizen trying to apply to my local thai embassy which is Washington DC. The consulate visa department never answers their phone or emails I have sent… Does anyone know if I have to keep the 500k bhat in my checking acct for a certain period of time at this embassy location before applying? I keep seeing 3 months in certain places but also saw someone in London applied the day after the $ was put into his acct and he was approved.
DTV approved. Applied June 30, approved July 8. US citizen and applied online via LA consulate while in Colorado. Applied for workcation as self-employed. Another friend said it took him also 8 days. Thought I messed up by putting 5 years on how long my stay would be, didn't seem to matter.
Was asked for additional documents July 7: business registration, letter of employment, portfolio, and tax return. Sent docs and was approved within minutes.
Happy to assist anyone self employed wanting the workcation DTV.
First of all, thank you so much to everyone who shared countless application reviews.
In my case, I annotated the Financial Evidence section in detail for the past three months and even included screenshot captures on current day, but ultimately, I was asked to simply resubmit the original bank statement. Just for your reference.
Just as I’ve received help, I’ll do my best to answer any questions you may have.
I saw a post about Ankara being a scam embassy to apply from, but we used them and both of our DTV visas were approved in 6-7 working days. They were also very responsive through FB chat. While waiting for approval, I was talking to three others on Reddit who were using that embassy, and all of them also received their DTV visas in a timely manner. Please do not be dismayed or fear using that embassy. They seem to like submissions that are well organised and 6 months of bank statements helped - so for you supporting documents make a table of contents and then order your documents to follow such. Good luck!
(I am posting anonymous so the disgruntled guy doesn't drop my name to them or associate with me in any way when he contacts them)
Visa Approved! I would have not been able to get my visa approved without the help of this group and the thorough details from some of these postings. Thank you!
Applied for Visa on June 9th
Asked to share more documents on June 17th
Sent the requested documents on the 20th
Approved on July 2nd.
Good luck to everyone and please let me know if you have any questions. I would like to pay it forward 🙏🏾🤞🏾🫵🏾
