Did you read my question? im pretty sure i told my plans and that is to go uk until end September back Thailand. I need to renew my non o end November is it easier to do in UK or spend money on a re entry for 2 months.

If you mean registering you staying, hotels get fined 2000 baht so i imagine it be same.

Do UK holders need an International Driving Permit when entering Thailand on an Elite Visa?

Its an amazing document for 5.50 every time i get stopped and pull out my international licence. The police just wave me on with disappointment in there eyes they cant fine me. Best 5.50 i ever spent. Prior i was getting 500 baht fines regularly. Get one just to flash at police its great.

just got mine at phuket immigration just turned up at 3.55 filled in the form paid the 1000 baht. 20 mins

But dont get into any trouble while your visa has expired. I heard police take a dim view of over stay and give fines. Just what i heard.
