TLDR : Answer Summary
In Thailand, the maximum withdrawal limit from ATMs is generally 30,000 baht per transaction for cards operated through Krungsri Bank, often recognized by its yellow ATMs, with a flat fee of 220 baht per withdrawal. Some users report that limitations can depend on their home banks and the type of card used. Additionally, when using ATMs, it is recommended to refuse Dynamic Currency Conversion (DCC) to prevent unfavorable exchange rates. Users also note the need to be cautious of additional fees from their home banks, which can significantly add to the cost of withdrawals. Overall, carrying some cash is often suggested for better exchange rates and convenience.

With scb you could up it to 200,000 a day

If you goto a mall look for the yellow bank called Krungsri. Bring your passport and a mastercard. Even prepaid is good. You hand your passport and card and you pay zero commission right into the Bank with good exchange rates. If you have only Visa card they will charge 200 THB. If you go with any card to an ATM it will be the worst. Or bring enough cash and choose a booth with the best exchange rate.

Maximum 30 bills dispensed per transaction too.

I signed up for a revolut card to avoid the fee my bank charges of 2.8 per transaction. But I can't figure out what revolut charges. Any advise on the revolut card?

Be careful at a hotel atm $15 fee And everyday bank $10 expensive
Bill *********
The fees suck ! It might say $220 baht but your own bank charges exchange fees and atm fees $38 usd total .
Carl *********
To avoid the fees take your passport inside a branch you can withdraw over the counter with card and passport at some banks Bangkok bank does it
The first time I paid $55 USD transaction fee was my last.

Aon atm machines charge around 150 baht fee. But there are not many bank branches in Bangkok. There is an Aon ATM at terminal 21 asoke last time I looked. The mall tha Phra also has a branch and atm on the 4th floor. I’m unsure what the maximum withdrawal limit is however the lower atm fee helps.

20,000 baht is the maximum I'm allowed .. and they all charge 220 baht per withdrawal . Always pick without conversion
strange, how can a tourist go cashless? I make a point of using cash. My little bit to try to prevent, or slow the implementation of a cashless society 🤷♂️
and do you think it's a good thing? Next will be social credit scores and a ban onbtra Eling if you disagree with the government. Hence me insisting on paying cash to do my little bit
Chinese are very free and have a very good cashless system. Not so much in Europe or the USA these days. All the free countries are flocking to ally with China and BRICS, even Thailand is joining in a few years. How come you don't know this?
no it's the same thing. If you have a bad credit score in the West you can't buy a house, car or a TV. It determines your social status in Western capitalist states.
if you've any bad credit score in the west, you can't get credit. Or you can, but expensive credit. In China, if you have aow social credit score, you cannot book flights. How low does that social credit score need to be? I don't know. 🤷♂️
If I have a good credit score in the West I get offers on all sorts of deals. If I don't have a good credit score I don't get offered deals. It's a way to know you are wealthy or smart enough to offered more than other people in your society. China is certainly not as repressive as Europe or the USA, but the propaganda from the West will always tell you China, Iran, Russia and North Korea are bad, those countries are the economic and military threat to the USA. Even though they don't threaten the USA, only with good cheaper products that the West can't produce cheap enough.
if you're wealthy, you don't really need credit 🤷♂️ But you're not really grasping to difference between credit score and social credit score. But I'll bid you goodnight in the hope that you will catch up 🤣
Yes wealthy people always use credit. You don't seem to know much at all about this and just pretending China is bad for your own emotional reasons or Western backed propaganda beliefs.
if want a car, I buy it. I want a rv, I buy it. Anything I do, I pay for it. No need for credit. As for Pretending China is bad, I'm simply pointing out that I don't want to be told I can't fly somewhere because my SOCIAL credit score is nit good enough. Whether I am right or wrong is irrelevant. Better safe than sorry. 🤷♂️
you can choose to live in fear of China, Russia, Iran and North Korea if you choose to, that's what your country wants from you. But you can be free too if you choose to, and find out the truth, and not be scared about buying a plane ticket in China because they made up a narrative for you to fear. Your country has put fear in you, created an issue, invited you to get outraged, and then they will say you need to give your tax money to us to fight back. That's how the West works now.
So you buy your car with cash, you buy your house with cash? Seems like crime is a big part of your life, or just scared of China or something. If you are smart you can use credit to buy things. It's normal, the USA is $31 Trillion debt, the biggest in the world. If you can't manage credit and use it to your advantage you have issues. How do you think students get through university these days in the West? The West is built around credit scoring and borrowing. That's how many people make a lot of money by borrowing cheap making profits and paying back. Simple business.
ok, so you like being controlled. 🤣 digital is convenient while there is choice. What happens when there is no choice and systems, are down? Or you've been locked out of your account for whatever reason?
Well the West controls your bank account anyway now with 5 eyes. Look at Canada blocking all bank accounts of truck drivers they didn't like protesting. Even in the UK political leaders are having their bank accounts closed and blocked. You have no choice in the West, you just comply now. It's way more repressive than China or anywhere else in the world.n You seem to love being repressed and controlled. I bet you think China is your enemy too, and Russia, and North Korea and Iran 🤣
I certainly don't see any of those nations being an enemy, I would say governments are though. So tell me how, with my cash, how the UK government control how I spend?
I see the US government as the enemy of Europe and China, Iran, North Korea and Russia as free and not wanting to be controlled by the oppressive US government and neocon regimes.
100% about Canada. So why are you all for ditching cash, 🤷♂️ if you have your cash, blocking a bank account is a little bit inconvenient. But with no cash ans your account being blocked, it's a he'll of a lot more than inconvenient 🤷♂️
how can you transfer cash internationally or pay online with cash these days? Even when I buy stuff from street vendors or at the market it's all done on QR code. Very simple. Nothing controlling or repressive about it.
you are choosing not to use cash. That's the choice you are making. Do you think handing over 50฿ in cash is any more difficult that opening your phone, logging in to your bank and scanning? Again, what if you've no Internet? What if they system is down. What then if there is no cash? 🤷♂️
I'm not choosing, I see less places needing to use cash. Same in the UK. If the system was down cash is a back up. Don't be scared, it's just the future.
I have, I know it well, as I know your Western propaganda beliefs about it too. I'm just smart enough not to fall for Western propaganda any more. Just because China is wealthier, stronger and more innovative than the West doesn't mean you should be afraid of it. You should be afraid of what the USA is making you believe right now.
I'm fairly certain you commented that Thailand will be cashless in a few years. I'm not sure about your definition of cashless, but mine is no cash 🤷♂️
yes cashless, as in you don't need to use cash to pay for things. FFS you are slow and don't bother keeping up with geopolitics. 🤣 Don't worry just keep pretending China is your enemy if that makes sense in whatever world you live in 🤣
I have a smart phone lol and a Thai bank account just don't need to use the QR codes for grab, rent etc. especially when using a lot more cash nowadays to avoid Thai tax.

Same as you home country (bank) limit.

In Thailand, the ATMs dispense the cash, then the receipt, then return your card. Many people have walked away with the cash and not waited for their card to be returned. When that happens, the ATM sucks it back in and you have to call the number on the ATM to get your card back.
I take out about 20,000 which is $600 roughly little below. Don't seem to have a problem getting that out unless the ATMs are low or not functioning. they're all about the same so just find one that works. 7-Eleven has a few always
it may be because of the limit on his/your debit cards. My U.K. card is limited to £300 per day!! It might be worth looking at the rates, and cost, of sending yourself Thai Baht, with Western Union. 🤔
I was able to withdraw only 10k with my Indian forex card, I tried every god damn ATM in Bangkok. They are doing this intentionally to charge 220 extra every time.
I always say no to the currency conversion. That seems to be the general consensus online.

It is

baht maximum from all Thai ATM’s except the Krungsri Bank which are the yellow ATM’s that allow you to withdraw

baht.
All charge 220 baht unless you are using a Thai bank ATM card.
George *************
Krungsri Bank (yellow bank) ATMs will allow up to 30,000 per withdrawal. There will be a flat 220 baht fee for any withdrawal.
BUT please be aware that during the withdrawal, the ATM will ask you if you wish to use a different exchange rate, which is much worse (5% worse). So, be sure to decline this different exchange rate. Don't "Accept" this new conversion rate, but be sure to pick the "No, Continue without Conversion" option. By doing this you will get the MasterCard or Visa country exchange rate which is a much better rate.
No one could possibly prefer the new offered exchange rate. What is being offered is known generically as Dynamic Currency Conversion (DCC) and is never a good idea. How can you tell you are being offered DCC? If it mentions any amounts denominated in your home currency, then you are being offered DCC. Don't accept it.

John ATMs are a complete rip off … not only are there fees on each side but the rate they give you is lower than the actually rate… right now it’s about 34.5 baht per $1.00 but the machines give you like 32.5 baht per dollar… doesn’t seem like a lot but let’s say you take out 30,000 baht… which some ATM will allow you are losing
****
of your money just in the exchange… its over $50 in exchange lost plus the fees
It ranges from 20,000 to 30,000 baht but is also controlled by your card's daily withdrawal limit. The cartel of banks in Thailand charges 220 per withdrawal. You can go to the counter and withdraw money, but only at larger branches.

30,000 no problem

So it's 220 baht cost from thai bank.
So do uk banks charge as well I'm with barclays and nationwide..and is exchange rate OK. Thanks all.never used atm out here normally bring enough cash to last but staying a bit longer
Peter **********
John Deeney I think NW charge 2.99% + the 220 baht thai bank charge, as does Barclays
Not sure how it works but Western Union do cash pick ups, maybe worth investing or someone may have experience with them. I've seen a few places with the western Union sign outside banks, wise is the one I use to transfer money but that's into a Thai bank but Money Gram and western Union are not far behind in the fees

The maximum limit is your daily limit on your card.. If you mean the maximum single draw amount its THB 30k
it depends what limit you have and what country you are from i know the Australian banks charge $14 for withdrawals using your card at Thai ATMs but i carry a WISE card put money in it prior to travel
i played it safe and have a Thai bank account and a Philippines account with money in both and use when im in either country if the exchange rate is poor at the moment down 20% in Australia and i believe its going to get worse under Trump?
well i have bank of Bangkok account luckily i have a good amount in there before the collapse of the Aussie dollar from when i sent money it was 25baht to the dollar now 21.4 and another account in the Philippines so i only send money when the exchange rate is high, do have to draw cash out every time ?
