TLDR : Answer Summary
The fees for using an agency to apply for a 30-day extension in Thailand vary, with reported costs around 3,500 to 4,000 baht, including a separate immigration fee typically set at 1,900 baht. Many comments suggest that applying in person at an immigration office is straightforward and significantly cheaper, as the extension itself costs only 1,900 baht without additional agency fees. Users also note that while agents can save time, the process can be completed independently with minimal hassle.

Jomtien agency charged 1900 baht plus the 1900 baht immigration fee for the extension.

Save yourself some money and just do it yourself at the immigration office. It’s o my 1900 baht, but if you go through an agent, it’s gonna cost you at least double the amount. It’s a simple process, just have to have patience. Overall, took about 1.5 hours to do for my entire family

Do it yourself bhat 1900

E-extension, fee 500 bath, follow there instructions for the paperwork, make appointment at immigration, took me 7 minutes for the extension. Total 2400 bath, 1900 for extension, 500 for the company. Only for touristvisa and exemptions

I was told I can book 60 days visa just as I do now when I travel from UK

I've never used one before but you got me thinking, time versus a few thousand baht. Renewing unless you hit it right, is half a day gone, better spent elsewhere than queuing in immigration. Last couple of times I turned up at 8.00 was painless but later than 9 you lose the day

I have a drivers license but don’t live at that address anymore. would this work as my proof of residency?
I’m in Chiang Mai. Had an agent do my first extension cost 3900 baht (1900 immigration fee and 2000 agent fee). I met agent at immigration was there less than 10 minutes. I did my second extension myself. It was not difficult but took several hours. Agent saves you time. Doing it yourself save you money.

You can do IT by yourself, enter your Immigration Office, bring a Passfoto and Passport copies of the Site with Foto and a Copy of the Site with the stamp at arrival. Eventually a TM 30 Form (If you stay at a Hotel you don't need it) So you have to fill Out one Form, easy job and the immi officers are helpful.

The 30 day extension is 1900 baht on its own , just go to the nearest immigration office, every province has one, they do speak English. You will need a passport size photo, just like your passport and a photo copy of your passport its just a single form you fill out, it really is easy and simple. You will spend more time with an agent then it will take at the immigration office

Extending 30 day exempt entry.
I just popped down to immigration ( blue tree Phuket). Filled in form, gave them my photo, passport and money. 1900 tbt. 45 mins. Had a cuppa next door whilst I waited.
my local office usually requires two sets of everything for my visa extension type. One year they asked for 3 sets. So since then I just always have extra of everything with me. Including photos.
the OP didn't explain what type of extension. Mine was extending exempt entry by 30 days. Other extensions like based on retirement/marriage etc would be different perhaps.
what sort of extension are you asking about? A 30 day exempt entry extending for 30 days? Or are you asking about a 2 year extension based on "something else"
