Several users shared their experiences and suggestions, highlighting Laos, Vietnam, and Cambodia as options. Laos is noted for its quick processing times, with some users successfully obtaining their visas in just 24 hours. I understand that non immigrant visa's need to be done in your home country?

So it would seem not but that's what my embassy website implies.

Dave Owen only the Non-Imm-O/A visa needs to be applied for in your home country. Non-Imm-O visas (without the "A") can be applied for anywhere in the World where there is a Thai embassy or consulate

I was there whilst it was on going and border closed. Even that provided insights into propaganda vs reality . The cambodians are lovely people and they need the tourist money there. The people are suffering from the govts. manipulation of the situation.

As an FYI, the Thai embassy and consulate in Vietnam will be closed from Feb 14 to Feb 22nd. If you submit on Monday the 8th, there is a chance you get it back before the holiday, but not sure I would risk it, as then you are stuck there another week with nothing moving with the visa

I went to savannakhet ,Lao , took 24 hrs just over after submitting the paperwork. There is a small print shop opposite the Thai consulate, they acted as an agent for a not very large fee.Plenty of cheap places to stay in Savannakhet. Cross into Lao via friendship bridge from Mukdahan

Vientiane was really simple. Got my non o visa there last month. Applied on a Monday, paid Tuesday morning and was approved on the Thursday.

The only option is to apply online using the Thai e-visa website. I only had to go to the Thai embassy in Vientiane to make the payment. No documents are handed over
