Why did you stop pursuing this? What kind of business did you want to create? Define "office." Can it be the building I rent where the business is located? I just have to rent it for 3 months? What exactly do I have to publish in the Royal Gazette? An opening announcement? In which part of the website can this be found? I'd like to see an example.

So I can set up a sole proprietorship or a limited company. I'll have to do some research on this as I don't know the difference. Is this really necessary though for a small café?

Good info thx 👍 How much does it cost to register a business with the MoC? Is there a monthly or yearly fee? Stupid question: Would I then have to pay provincial and/or federal taxes every year? What would the tax rate be for a small restaurant or café?

Wow! I've never heard of this. So what would be required for me to set up the business once I've found a suitable building to rent? Do I need to register the business with the Ministry of Commerce? Do I need to apply for a license to sell food/drinks?

I have an American Citibank account and a Thai Citibank account and do global transfers for free but the Thai Citibank account has a monthly service fee of 300 baht if there's less than 1M baht in it. Also, the Thai Citibank account was not easy to open. I went to one of the three branches in Bangkok 4 years ago and had to beg them to let me open an account. I told them I've been a Citibank customer for 20 years which is true. They said the requirement was to deposit 1M baht or some obscene amount of money but the personal banker I was talking with eventually waived that requirement.
