I live in Khon Kaen. Traveling to Bangkok simply to do paperwork is not a feasible option. Others have said they don't require the original passport. I asked a different DHL clearance agent (recommended by a member of this group) to take over the case and he said it's true, they don't need the original passport. He said I can pay 900 baht to just use the photocopy.

Did you have to fill out and send them a form for authorizing DHL as your broker? They said I have to fill out a form which she only referred to as "ภพ 20." I have no idea what it is, what it's called in English, or where I can get it. It translates to "world 20." The agent at the DHL call center (which the clearance agent told me to call to request information about the form) didn't know what I was talking about.
Thank you very much. I'll call them on Monday and ask if they can take over the case. I've had enough of this moron I've been dealing with...
Once you sent them the copy of your passport, how long did it take for the process to be completed and for the package to be cleared from customs? Did you have to send a copy of your visa and arrival card as well?
How did you convince them to let you send a copy of your passport via email? I talked to someone at the DHL call center and they said I can do this but when I told the DHL agent who wants me to send them my actual, physical passport they said it isn't true. I don't what else I can do. I told them I absolutely will not send them my passport and told them I cannot drive 3 hours to the nearest customs office to register and/or authorize DHL as my broker or whatever it is they want me to do. These are still my only options according to the DHL agent I'm dealing with...
What exactly did you have to do and how long did it take? If I do this (and it sounds like I might have to), what do I tell the people at the customs office? That I need to register with customs so I can get a package cleared? What is this process called?
I have an elite visa and just did my first 90-day report in Khon Kaen. I showed them my Thailand Elite card and they fast tracked me to the front of the line. I was out in less than 5 minutes. It can also be done online. I'll try that next time.
I had one 1 day overstay a couple years ago. When I was inquiring about the visa, Thailand Elite said it's okay because it's within the allowed number of overstays. I didn't ask what the limit is though.
