I need to get a covid test so I can travel to the United States through an airport in Japan via United Airlines. Can it be ATK or does it need to be PCR? What's the best place to get a covid test in Bangkok on a Saturday afternoon? Do I need to make an appointment or can I just walk in?

There are a couple of places in Suvarnabhumi that are walk in. Search the group, some people have commented on them. There is always Dr Donna, Medconsult as well but I believe you need an appointment.

Great service used 2 or 3 times, but do you still need it? There is no test requirement to transit Japan. Or maybe change your flight.

A customer service representative at Suvarnabhumi Airport said I would need to comply with transit covid requirements for the Tokyo airport, but she wasn't sure what they are. Here's what United Airlines says about it:

The CDC site has been updated. 「This rescission takes effect for flights departing to the United States from a foreign country at or after 12:01am ET (4:01am GMT) on June 12, 2022, and will be published in the Federal Register」

The CDC page has not been updated yet. From the articles it sounds like arriving after 00:01 AM in US Sunday June 12 no test required.
