TLDR : Answer Summary
Yes, you can opt to be an organ donor in Thailand, and it is encouraged. Registration for organ donation can be done at the Thai Red Cross. There are specific requirements, such as being under 65 years of age for organ donation. Additionally, if you wish to donate blood, you need to meet certain criteria, such as being under 60 years old if you are a first-time donor. It's interesting to note that Rh-negative blood types are extremely rare in Thailand, making blood donation particularly valuable. Some users also discussed challenges regarding donation for foreigners, mentioning that only Thai nationals might be accepted for certain medical studies, possibly due to embassy regulations. Overall, while organ donation is possible, guidelines and restrictions apply.

Bathtub filled with ice in bkk’s ghettos should do the trick.
Have heard this several times James. Thanks for confirming. I think it’s because we need to obtain permission from our Embassies to release our bodies. The inevitable delay can/does render our cadavers unsuitable for study.

I tried to donate my body for medical study some years ago, but when I contacted the place in BKK (maybe Chula Hospital), I was told my body would not be accepted. I still have no idea why not. I don't live in Bangkok, so maybe that could be why. I was 30-something at the time.
Thanks for your information! There are most definitely limits of distance from medical school. Also, I know others have been declined due to being foreign (Thai’s only). Almost certainly because we need to obtain permission from our Embassies to release our corpses.

It depends on your age and your country that you have come from
