It can be done I have do this myself a few times,

1. however both employers need to Co ordinate this very carefully and work together

2. Typically this only works if both employers use the same immigration /DOL office for new and old WP

3. If it's inter-provincial it will easier starting over gets too complicated

The times I have done this it's been via the BOI in BKK as all companies are BOI companies

Vic Byw well no.. Brandon is an American, you are from the UK the DTAs are different

You need to check your own circumstances not rely on what others tell you

1. In Thailand 180 days plus you are resident for tax in Thailand.. Fact

2. If your income from the UK is taxed at source then the DTA will apply (civil servant pensions are treated different)

3. If you are not taxed at source then your income is assessable in Thailand for tax and you will need to pay

4. Irrespective if you exceed the threshold on the Thai tax table, you should be submiting a Thai tax return and claiming a credit against any tax paid at source in the UK under the DTA or paying the tax due in Thailand

but a DTA by it's very name is only applicable if you have paid tax under one jurisdiction... Or is specfically exempt under a counties specific DTA

If one hasn't paid tax at source and is not in a exempt category per a countries specfic DTA, your pension is assessable income in Thailand after 180 days in country

One size of DTA doesn't fit all is the point
